Talkeetna to Anchorage

The Park Connection Motorcoach operates two trips daily between Talkeetna and Anchorage. Both depart from the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. The afternoon service also adds a pickup in downtown Talkeetna. Upon arrival in Anchorage the motorcoach drops passengers off at the Dena’ina Civic Center and the airport. Tap below for sites to see on the way.

The trip from Talkeetna to Anchorage covers 112 miles and takes about 2.5 hours. You’ll leave Talkeetna on the Spur Road connecting to the Parks Highway. The highway passes through popular local recreation areas at Montana Creek, Deshka Landing, and Big Lake before reconnecting with bustling civilization in Wasilla. Look for the majestic Pioneer Peak, a prominent feature in the Chugach Mountains, after leaving Wasilla. Also keep an eye out for moose in the Palmer Hay Flats. The road continues past the small Athabaskan village of Eklutna and ends in downtown Anchorage or the airport.
