Bus Seward to Talkeetna

The trip from Seward to Talkeetna by motorcoach travels nearly 242 miles. These two popular visitor destinations are connected by three highways - the Seward, the Glenn and the Parks Highways. You will travel on the Seward Highway, designated as a National Scenic Byway, between Seward and Anchorage. This trip features the Kenai Mountains and the Turnagain Arm and generally takes just under three hours by motorcoach. Upon arrival in Anchorage you will stop downtown at the Dena'ina Civic Center for a lunch stop on your own. The last portion of your trip from Anchorage to Talkeetna is a 112 mile drive, about 2.5 hours. Upon your departure from Anchorage, the bus will follow the Chugach Mountains northward on the Glenn Highway. Crossing over the Knik River, you will enter the Matanuska-Susitna Valley region before your motorcoach turns onto the Parks Highway. The bus will turn off onto the Talkeetna Spur Road and follow this road 15 miles to the quaint town of Talkeetna.

The Seward to Talkeetna trip is part of the Park Connection’s “Park to Park” route and leaves late morning from the Seward Small Boat Harbor, the Gateway Hotel, and the Seward Windsong Lodge. On select cruise ships days we also offer a special departure directly from the cruise ship dock. A stop is made in downtown Anchorage for lunch on your own. The motorcoach continues onto Talkeetna at 3:00 PM.  The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, located about 1 mile from downtown, is the only drop off location in Talkeetna.
